Hot Air comming through firewall ???

im not really too sure what is causing this and here is the situation...

when driving,.. heat or hot air is comming into the cabin of the car and the heat is not on nothing is on for that matter,..it only comes into the car near the driver and passenger's feet,..not through the dash vents,..i have no idea what is causing this but it is really annoying,.. i can only imagine how its going to be in the summer,... is it possible to have a hole in the firewall or something not working right? im realy stumped on this,... ohalso.. climate control works great while on lol.... i can combat the heat by turning the AC on .. but thats not right... any input on this would be much appreciated....

not sure if it matters but i have climate control,..

^^^^ well the sunroom open = more air would make sense due to the air having somewhere to vent out of,.. but is this normal,.. i mean .. it feels like the heat is on and my legs get hot,.. ive had people be like.. " Is the heat on??" ,.. and im like errhh no.. and i have to put the AC on .. lol.....

anyone other insight on this..?

you have a aftermarket audio system? amps? if so the installer would have had to bring the amp wires from the battery thru the firewall. if they didnt reseat the boot for the wire harness then yea a lot of heat from the engine will flood into the cabin. I had this problem on my 3rd gen, in the same area u have described. check there to see the status of the rubber boot there.

turn the temp down to 60 and leave the recirculate button on on the a/c...that might be all it is. it does vent a little on its own if its off.

You mentioned you have the climate control...
When this system is "off," all that means is that the blower motor is off. The floor vents remain open and the controller will still modulate the air temperature - even though the display is dark. Forward motion of the car will cause air flow through the floor vents, especially if you have a window or the sunroof open.

If the controller senses a low interior temp, it will set the heater door so that warm air flows. That's probably what is happening.

With the ignition on, you can twist the temperature **** a few clicks to the left. This will fix the warm air problem. (You will notice that the next time you turn on the climate control, the setpoint will be changed.) Or, you can press the "recirc" button - this will close the fresh air inlet so that there will be no more air flow.

Just hit the recirculate button and it should stop the warm air from coming in the vents.

The a/c compressor won't run if you use the "econ" button.

Also, if the system is off and you press the "mode" button, you can switch the air ducts without turning on the fan or the compressor. But, once the fan is on, there is no way to turn it off except to use the "off" button.
