Spark Plug

Which is the best spark plug you guys recommend , I pulled out Ngks the other day, the gaps where so big i can stuff a penny in them and the electrodes where slanted to one side, they where shot, i got some Bosch Platinum, not the +2 or +4s but regular ones, did i make a good choice ? ppl are telling me i shoulda got auto lite platinums but iam not fond of those. and the gap i set at 44 thousands .

I replaced the original plugs when the car had 102K with NGK's one step colder. The car always had some knocking even with premium gas but now the knocking is goooone for good. You should stick with the original NGK's.

This subject has come up on the org a number of times and the same answers always emerge. You should put in the type of plug the manufacturer reccommends, which in this case is NGK or Denso.

There is no reason to move to a Bosch plug. I have always been surprised that people will try to switch up thier plugs to some type of aftermarket version, made by someone other than the OEM company. Your Max was designed to operate with the NGK plug from the factory, not a Bosch plug. If Nissan thought a Bosch plug would work better in the vehicle, they would have made Bosch the original equipment component.

Japanese Manufacturers use NGK and Denso. European Manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, etc.) generally use Bosch. GM uses AC/Delco and Ford uses Autolite. There's an old saying...you should dance with the one that brung ya!

no one seems to believe OEM are the best option... really need convincing? Go out and buy plugs not recommended for the Max and see how it runs.

so would just a set of regular copper plugs be good, because they are obviously colder. or just a nice set of denso platinums or champion platinums for 7 bucks a piece?
