i disagree with the turn part...from a start maybe (but only if you launch bad and spin the tires)

really? on the turns its where its most effective, in a non HLSD the right tire will just spin, in a HLSD car the god damn steering wheel is hard to hold on and just PULLS you right through. i cant imagine having this kinda power without it

those w/o HLSD have regular open LSD correct? so it should still put more power on the tire with more traction correct?

if it is wet out and you take a turn with HLSD it will catch the tires (atleast does for me :-/ (Functions differently then my Non HLSD Tranny did )

good luck finding one

Really? I thought most of the 6 speeds had HLSD

although my only source knowledge for this thought was that most of the sigs I see on this sight that are 6 speeds also say HLSD...

I don't have HLSD to my knowlege and my car is an optioned out black on black 2002 6spd. (no nav)

I can corner just fine but my tranny code doesnt have the HLSD stuff on it.

It does seem to be very rare... I dont know many that have it (and none that advertise it)

if its wet and you are going around a corner, you shouldnt be going fast enough to realize the HLSD helps.

Typically limited slip differentials offer better launches because the clutches lock up both tires and deliver power to both, but from my experience (which is with older, rear-drive cars so I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing) this is NOT a benefit in the corner. With an open dif I always had one tire that was gripping, with a posi if you break both tires loose you have much less traction than if one is still rolling. Coefficient of friction static > friction sliding right?

I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to front drive set-ups. Am I missing something?

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...izConditions=0

Not sure if that URL will work, its for the KBB price of a 40,000 mile 6 speed optioned SE -Nav. The excellent price on that one is 13,9xx. These are the "private party" values for the car. If its got a few nicks and dents it falls in the "good" category which is 13,1xx. I would presume yours falls somewhere inbetween. Most usually do.

That said, however, KBB usually takes off value for manual rather than auto, whereas most of us are more excited about the 6 speed cars and willing to pay a bit of a premium for that option considering how tough they are to find.

Anyway, considering the above, I'd say you got a fair price for what sounds to be a solid car. Enjoy!

I meant a loaded SE because I want a 6spd. I'm pretty sure thats not all is it? Like for example that short list is missing the Titanium Package.

When I am powering around corners the HLSD really makes a difference. The car just keeps pulling without that feel of cooking only one wheel...
