Non-Bose 2k3 LED 's "Metal" Help needed...
Ok, I have searched for 3 days and I can not find the write-up for the radio LED upgrade. ( I have found Door switches, and HVAC and Gages) I sware I have seen this done before by "Metal" or "Irish"
or "Sooner".
Does any have a how to or know how to chane the lights in a Non-Bose 2k3 radio. I want to switch to blue LEDS.
I do NOT need step by step instructions. I have already taken it apart about 5times. I also have replaced the HVAC control bulbs (twist locks) with 3 wedge LEDs from http://autolumination.com/74.htm
-FYI -Neo Wedge Based LED Bulbs... $2.99 ea.
I have already removed the blue rubber covers from the lamps soildered to the board. I know how to take it all apart and I know I an going to have to de-solder and solder in the new LEDS

i did my stock bose unit swap...I did a write up when I did it two years ago. Its kind of a pain but everytime I get a compliment it definitely makes it worth it.

Just do your color testing with clock to get the color you want first then copy it for your HU display.
Take out clock; expose the front side of the board. {Screws and clips} cut (2) pieces red/magenta to fit & (2) pieces of blue. (Approx. 1 ½ x ¾)
To install just layer red 1st then blue, put the red on clock side blue towards display window.
{Clock, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Display Cover}
