SAMCO hoses installed

The other thread is so convoluted and long, just figured I'd post a new one. For those who like pictures of things, here are the pics of the Samco radiator hoses installed. I still have not figured out where the third (short) hose in the set goes - it does NOT fit any other hose in the engine bay. So I still have to get with Samco/distributor and get the correct third hose (which is supposed to be a radiator overflow hose). The short hose is NOT for the coolant hose below the upper coolant hose...it's too big (I checked) I've emailed Samco and had no response after almost a week. Great service

Here are some pics. Blue was the only color they had in stock, so I just got it since I really don't care. The upper and lower radiator hoses were both perfect fits, by the way.

Oh, and since they are blue, they are good for a gain of 26.5whp/33wtq on the dyno, FTW!

you know how we roll. Stickers under the hood where nobody can see them

Rob stopped by for a while. Still having troubles with the Alti SE-R. I think he really hates that car now, seems like there is always stuff going wrong with it, and it's not modded at all.

at 125k miles, it was 'time' to do the hoses and belts. The old hoses were feeling pretty mushy and soft.

these cost about twice as much as new OEM hoses, but I had some paypal balance sitting around, so what the hell

I also want to mention that Samco does not appear to stand behind its products, as I have emailed them multiple times now with no response about the fact that the third hose that came with the kit is WRONG and does not fit anyplace.

I'm going to have to say: DO NOT buy SAMCO since they clearly don't stand behind their products or provide any kind of customer service.

Jeff (importrp), have you had any luck with contacting Samco about this? This is kind of pissing me off, considering how much these hoses cost they should be correct. If you can provide me with the distributor you bought them from before sending to me, I will contact them directly and have a discussion.

yeah, they make black, red, blue, and maybe other colors. The only one they had in stock was blue for the maxima, and Jeff said it would be 5-6 weeks for another color, since they come from the UK.

Maxboost925, yes as you found out they do make other colors, but again Sooner has to be a "mature aged adult" and shoot a smart a.. comment. Glad you found the other colors!

Are you a moron? You already stated that.....but perhaps you missed the part where I don't care how they look. Not everyone here is a poser who has to have everything match perfectly under the hood. Some people buy quality products for the sake of QUALITY rather than worrying about what other people think of their engine bay.

When I was talking about your engine cover, I was just kidding around. I even asked you how you did it (because I was interested). But you are so self-conscious I guess you think I'm flaming you or something.

who says that a person cant wear blue shoes with black dress. its all good man as long as you aint driving around without the hood. by the way the reason those hoses cost twice more than OEM only because they are painted or is there a quality difference? because i just ordered OEM hoses upper and lower and cost me $33 what did those hoses cost you?

They're not painted, they're molded all the way through in that color in silicone, so they're much better quality, stronger, and will last forever (longer than my car will...). Silicone hoses handle heat and pressure much better than rubber. Honestly, more important for turbo/SC applications than for coolant hoses.....

That said, I'm not going to lie. I just got them to be a bit different, since I don't think anyone else has gotten them. Are they worth the extra $50 or so that they cost over OEM? No, probably not from a performance standpoint. I needed to replace my OEM hoses and just wanted to try something new, just to do it (not to look "bling" or help performance). I had a paypal balance and nothing I really wanted to buy, so I got them.....

Posting up pics in this thread was more or less a joke by me....I know they look stupid, but I don't really care since my hood is rarely open. But some people like to see pics of stuff, so I posted up pics

how does that make me a poser if I just so happen to own a powder coating gun. and btw powder coating is quality unlike the people who spray paint ther valve cover.

you are also quick to judge. next time think before you speak. poser huh maybe you didn't see all the stickers on your car

Again, this self-consciousness. Did you miss the part where I said your engine cover looked like it was done well?? My point was that we all aren't concerned with having the engine bay all matching......it is called "generalizing" and was not directed at you specifically.

all the stickers on my car?

Oh......! If you're referring to the sig pic on the right, Those aren't stickers, they are magnets that are on the car only at the track. Almost all of those companies have given me hookups on products and/or partial sponsorship, or are for contingency programs. for example:

Having the "Hankook" magnets gets me alot of $$ toward free tires if I finish top-3 at an event. Redlinemax sponsored me for parts at cost before they went under. Philly SCCA is the series I run in. The letters and numbers are required classing badges.

You really should work on some better arguments.

no, but it's cold and rainy this weekend. I don't think it will have any effect. I just didn't want one of my originals to burst while on a road trip or something

Too bad plain black isn't an option. I'm probably going to look at replacing mine before heading to CHI in June.

you can get black (or yellow, red, etc>) but it usually has to be ordered from Samco. most places just carry blue since it is samco's "standard" color.
