Throttle squeek??

Hey,

I can hear a "squeek" as my idle changes during warmup or I press the gas lightly from a stop (like backing out of garage or something). Seems related to throttle plate??? Do your cars do this?? If not, any suggestions since I don't hear it when I manually move the throttle plate when car is not running. Should I spray the pulley mechanisms the cables ride on w/ silicone or will that just collect dirt and cause other problems? Car runs fine, but realized the "squeek".

Also, I notice the mechanism that the outboard cable runs around is a little sloppy to the touch...is this normal?

Thks in advance.

Steve

Do you have a 3.0 engine? I believe the 3.5 has "throttle by wire" and the cable doesn't go from the pedal to the thottle, but from the pedal to an actuator which feeds the computer; and then the computer actually controls the throttle opening.

I have a 20th AE with the 3.0 and manual transmission. In every gear on light acceleration, I believe I hear a throttle squeak or creak as rpms pass about 2300-2500. However, I'm not sure if that's throttle or something else - haven't really paid attention to whether my right foot was moving or maintaining a constant position as this is happening...

Yes, the 3.0 engine. On further listening, I can hear it going from Park-drive-park type of thing. Kinda hard to look under hood and move shifter at the same time and wife just moans at helping in these situations. It can be heard just for the split moment and then goes away. Almost as if some cable or something that is actuated makes the sound. Maybe some air mgmt valve or cable or whatnot triggered by shifting trans?? Really not sure what it is. Idles great, runs great. I gotta play w/ it some more to see.
