the intake isnt going to fall off without it...it doesnt really move at all. i used a bracket as a safety measure to reduce MAF vibration. it probably doesnt do anything...but i wanted to be on the safe side

Since my mid-pipe and intake set-up is custom and I am still using the OEM accordian coupling, I had to make a bracket. No other choice for me. There is not enough strength in that coupling to support the piping, MAF, and filter.

probably a good idea. actually i think the intake does move some...upon opening the hood after my initial run, the actual filter popped off!!! i had it aligned too low and i think it was hitting the fender well....and it also may not have been tight enough.

a newbie...how cute

an intake (ANY intake) by itself has very minimal gains (1/2 - 2 whp).

might be a dumb question but I just got an I35 and was wondering if anyone knows if the berk will fit on it since my car is pretty close to your car. Would the variable intake cause any problems with a high flow filter/fitting of the tubing? I sent a question to berk just waiting for a response.

BTW cars look nice

appreciate the help

The drivetrain is identical to all A33B AT Maximas, so yes, it will fit perfectly. The intake would have no ill effect on the VIAS. Not sure where you got that from.

Let me know if Bryan over there gets back to you. He was doing ok at getting back to me in the past, but now, after 3 emails over the same amount of weeks, I haven't herd from him

I made my own intake. Apex-i filter custom made filter to maf adapter. 3inch piping with a 3.00 to 2.75 reducer. I'll post a pic later.

You should be seeing better gas mileage.

It's because your probably mashing the pedal more to hear it than you were before.

before i was getting about 24 miles to the gallon and now its about 25 miles to the gallon. i dont mash the pedal down any more then i did before. there is a tornado in the that was there before and i didnt take it out. you think that could be causing the problem?

It's to connect the 3 pipe to the smaller TB. It's just a coupler.

you dont need to reset it...it wont hurt anything.
if you want, you can disconnect the battery overnight so that the ECU "learns" the new mod when you drive again...but you dont have to. it will learn eventually anyway.

All terms in ID now, mmk?

So, you have your MAF, 2.75", pipe, supposed 3", and TB 2.5"

OK..Installed the Intake this morning...THE MAF rubber coupling was a B!t*h to get on..I had to heat it up, and stretch it out. I cleaned my MAF heavily with that CRC MAF cleaner...and Know my car seems to pull better than it did before. THE SOUND IS AWESOME...
Here is a pic...i would have made it larger..But didnt wanna kill the LITTLE bandwidth this site has

ugh....you shoudn't have cleaned the MAF at the same time. now you will never know if the better pull is because of the intake or because of the cleaned MAF.

PR intake > all others, by the way

DAMN, eh well it doesnt really matter to me now...It sounds better and it slightly pulls better.....well i know where the sound came from, and im guessing the better pull has only LITTLE TO DO WITH THE INTAKE

BUT THANKS TO ALL FOR THE INFO

I hear a hissing when i tap lightly on the throttle; and I have heard others mention this too. Sounds cool.
