Paint Grill Chome Possible?

Hi, I brought a new 02/03 chrome grill and instead of coming with the nissan emblem, it came with a plastic part that isn't chrome. Does anyone know if it's possible to paint this plastic part chrome? I tried a chrome paint at Advance Auto Parts, but it doesn't look as reflective as the oem chrome on the grill and the color doesn't match. (or if any emblem fit to replace it besides a nissan emblem or should I just get a nissan emblem?) Thanks for any help!

Im a little confused...so you got the 5.5 oem grille (00/01 is black, 02/03 is chrome)? If its the 5.5 grille i would just put on a nissan emblem. If its something aftermarket you can use the oem front grille emblem or the emblem off the trunk. And one more question cuz you didnt mention this, you have the 02/03 bumper right?

Look at the grill in this thread....Is this what you are talking about?

Also take a picture of what YOU have.

In order to chrome a plastic part, you have to apply a conductive paint first like the silvaspray: http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/silvaspray.html

Once the part has been paint with silvaspray you can plate it with copy chrome or others: http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/copychrome.htm

Sorry for the confusing. I think doublea got what I'm talking about, but it's so expensive ($100+); is there a cheaper alternative? Yup, I did a 5.5 conversion. The new grill came with a plastic part in place of the emblem. I just wanted to see if i can make the plastic part chrome to match with the grill instead of getting a nissan emblem. See my signature, sorry it's sort of dark, but the grill's suppose to be chrome.

Few year ago I tried to paint the grill with many different so call" Chrome paint " and none of them came close to the real thing, so I end up buying street scene grill and had it chrome plated, all in all it cost me 425$ that's 200$ for the grill and 225$ for the chrome plating of both grill.

High tech chrome paint is very expensive so there is no cheap substitute for that.
