Fidanza Flywheel
Was reading up on past people who installed Fidanza Flywheel for there 5.5 Gen, wanted to know if they corrected the problem with the ring gear? Want to make sure before I order it because im in for a new flywheel. I read that they should be carrying it out now with the new ring gear for the 5.5 gen flywheel, but I have seen no updates or people confirming this

Some sites out there have bad flywheels, I ordered mine then called Fidanza and showed them pics they fixed it and sent it back... I got mine from UltraRev, only reason I tell you that is because Fidanza said they would talk to UltraRev and recall all the bad flywheels.... but yea if anything call Fidanza and they will ask you to e-mail them pics of it and will be able to tell you if it is the right one or not. It takes longer, but better safe then sorry...

Basically Fidanza is aware of and probably has rectified the problem on their end, but the only problem is the inventory that the resellers have. Going along with what Merlyn said, just make the seller work with Fidanza to get the correct ring gear before you purchase it.

I was one of the ones that got a bad one and helped them figure out the problem. The bad ones have one less tooth on the ring gear which makes the gear a few mm smaller. Just enough for the starter gear to grind loudly on startup and shred the teeth off the flywheel.
The flywheel is a great product and Fidanza was really helpful through the whole process of figuring out what was wrong. One of their enginers even called me asking for measurements to help figure the problem out. They seemed very concerned about fixing it.
All you should have to do is count the teeth on the flywheel. If it has the same number as the stock unit you're ok. I don't remember how many teeth the stock had but it's in one of my posts about it. I still have the stock unit but I don't have time to dig it out right now.
