tag frame

hey guys

this will probably be a waste of time...not to mention the dumbest, yet easiest mod i wanna do...and i still cant do it

:S

my love for my car keeps me from growing some b*lls and simply doing things

anyway i wanna put a tag frame on the front...with a tag oviously...

the problem is...i drilled 3 holes already and it didnt come out straight lol

ive seen a few of u guys with this and im wondering how did u do it? did u need a special frame cause of the curvature of our bumper?? or could i use any frame? on my first attempt i put on the Maxima tag found at local nissan dealerships...

any help would b appreciated

Holes drilled in bumper FTL

In Ohio we must have front tags.

But I bought my car from Pennsylvania and after over a year of owning my Max can not and will not drill holes in my front bumper.

Plan on making a custom under lower bumper bracket this summer.

the car looks a lot better without the front tag (license plate right? lol) i've removed my front plates for a while since whenever someone backs into my car the plastic frame thing will make a dent on the paint and junk my plastic frame is all squashed looking too lol but ya i have mine off right now and there's two holes there...kinda annoying to see sometimes =/

hey iceman

Living in Ohio and I have not had a front plate on my 01 max for the past two years....Have not gotten pulled over for this since I see so many new high end autos such as bmw, mercedes, infiniti, lexus without plates or brackets and they are not getting pulled over...I figure obey the laws, seatbelt etc. and the police won't pull you over for the just the front plate missing....My car had the two holes and I went to home depot/lowes and went to the section where the push tabs are and bought a few different sizes about 50 cents total and pushed them in the holes to finish flush...Painted them to match body color and it looks good...I will take my chances without front plates because I like the way the car looks....

only downside,... if it is the law to have a front plate,... it gives them an instant

excuse to pull you over for basically no reason whenever they want

In TX front tags are required but its really only the highway patrol who are **** about it. Here in Lubbock and Austin they have better things to worry about. They even passed a law requiring that nothing obstructs the "readability" of the plate (i.e. you cant have license plate frames). Read this article and youll see how stupid this law is. http://www.snopes.com/politics/traffic/texasplate.asp Its ridiculous but i still have my frame on w/ a plastic cover and havent been pulled over (knock on wood). I know if my state didnt require front tags i wouldnt even think about putting them on.

can't u just say your car's broke or you're remodeling the car so it's not driving atm? I would go court and plead innocent! =D

i've seen cars placing their license plate behind the front windshield. would that suffice the front license plate laws? i mean, if u buy a new car and you don't have a back license plate, u put the paper license plate behind the back windshield right?

no sir. my bro got pulled over in the houston area the week for no front plate. it was in the windshield and the officer said that it doesn't work like that.
I have had mine in the windshield on all four of my cars and haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood)...
I don't even have one in the front of my max. I took it off and i think I put it under one of my back floor mats. It kept tapping against the window and that crap got annoying. I was too lazy to go get the suction cups from Wally World.

all that said... it's really whether the cop wants to be a d!<khead about it.
