no problem beating an si..used to own a 1992, It never really started to pull until it got into 3'd gear, then it would really scream. First and second however just arent geared for racing starts/

my opinion anyways..I find my automax quicker

 

Toast the punk for us all please. I have a 2k 5spd and raced a new si who had an intake and exhaust. On the first run I beat him so bad I thought he wasn't trying. The second time I put my window down to listen and yup, he was giving her all she got so have some faith in your Maxima. It's a fast car.

 

What is an Si...a CIVIC? Prelude? BMW(323si)?

I have an Si, the wife drives it. It's a suprisingly quick car but no match for the Max unless he's go more than bolt on's. I took it too the track recently and did a 16.1 @ 87mp, some have managed better but that really requires being extremely hard on the clutch. I'd have to say that if he's got an upgraded clutch and mad skills he will give your auto a run for the money but you should be able to take him.

One bit of advice I have for you is don't try to keep up with him when the raod is less than straight...you will lose that one.

I don't know if this Civiv Si I raced once had much work done to it...I know they had some exhaust work done...and the engine definately sounded louder...He came flying up from behind me some miles back...I saw him coming and sped up. We were screwing around for a little while passing in and out of cars when we both were head to head at a light. I beat him from the light with my 1999 Isuzu Trooper to the next light which was about just less than a quarter mile. I was doing about 80 and he/she(windows were tinted) was about a car length behind me(actually his/her front end was at my bumper). I was turning at the the next stop off...we honked each other and went about our business. I would also like to say that I beat my friends 1999 Dodge Intrepid with my Trooper also...till we got to about 60...then we started to edge past me. My Trooper is stock. Like I said...its a good truck. Never raced anyone with my Maxima though(aside from a friend of mine who had a stock SE 4th Gen...but we were racing over a bridge not from a starting position-i beat him)...I guess people know they will get beat...sorry my bad...i did race a Q45...He beat me. But then again he had a V-8. I miss my Vette.

 

the kid with the 2k si had CAI, catback exhaust, dc 4-1 header. we got off from a rolling start (started to push it at around 15 mph) When i hit about 100 mph i was like where is this *****? HAHHAHA LOL maybe he was just a bad driver BTW this was on the sprain brook parkway. i have a friend who has a stock 5spd prelude vtec who wants to run and another with 2k gtp auto ... we'll see later on. the gtp is a big monster man but we'll have to see, both cars have no mods. PEEAAAAAAACE

 

my friend has a 99 si and he beat my 2k auto..

 

I raced my friend who has a 2k SI....I burned him with my 2k 5spd Max. He had an intake, catback, exhaust. Still no match.

 

Damn i dont even floor it and i beat si's. No offense but it matters who the driver is. Or maybe it your maxima was parked. i have a GLE stock with an auto. Si's are no match.
Or maybe you were just not dropping the hammer.

I dont endorse racing. Heck, I dont even really race. Nobody challenges here in Orlando. I dont race because I fear death. No kidding I race if provoked, but have seen it in the papers to much, heck a couple of months ago a super modified civic EX raced a mustang GT, and when the stang lost control and hit the civic the civic lifted off of the ground and slammed into a navigator and the civic somehow hit another car and became a convertible. You maybe a good driver, but what makes you so sure the other guy is? if he loses control you can not react at 100 mph or heck even 75 mph to avoid him. The last race i was in was to the nearest stoplight, which means that I got up to 70 on a 2 lane road. I raced a kid in his moms expedition.

 

Or maybe the guy you were racing didn't know how to drive The 1/4 mile time for si is 15.7 ... the fastest i could make my 2k auto go at Houston Raceway Park was a 15.9 using the 1 and 2 and shifting at redline.

my friend has a 2k gtp and that thing is damn fast for an auto. I havent raced him yet though. probably not worth trying now with no mods. PEAAAACCCCEEEE

 

i hit 15.333 too at sears. bone stock. but stripped. i lost to a jr sc si tho.

my car was bone stock when i ran it. but now i got a system well half of it is back in the garage tho.

you guys shouldnt even have a problem with si's - ok heres the deal - when i had just my stillen intake i would dust these SOB's.... now i have my Greddy Cat-back i still dust them...... my fastest time at Englishtown raceway was 15.72 - auto max ( full tank of gas - me - lots of loose crap in the car ) ..... i wouldnt think that you guys would or should have any troubles with these cars....
actually as a matter of fact last year when i just had my stillen in - 3 civics tried to chase me down .... i ended up dustin them up to 120 then i pulled over to get a donut or 2 and a coffee - they pulled over and were like dood sweet ride - i was like yea - havent got any mods yet - they were like your kidding - i said nope and opened the hood meanwhile a kid looks inside and goes to his friend -- you guys lost to an automatic hahahahha - i thought that was great ........
