wiring through door harnesses
I looked at the door jamb and I found that there is a plug in harness that separates the door from the body. So I'd imagine running a wire through there would be pretty near impossible. So I started to look under the dash and found the harness that runs to the door. Do I have to splice into this harness to hoo up my door speakers when replacing the Bose, or is there an alternative?
When I wired my components last week, I simply cut the factory wires going to the doors. They are easy to find as the pos/neg are taped together behind the kickpanels. Much easier than drilling (what most people do) to get speaker wire to the doors. The factory wire is decent, I wouldn't push more than 75w through it though.
the front doors use molex connectors, so there's isn't running wires through those.
the rear doors just have a sleeve around them and once you remove the b-pillar cover, it's easy to get a wire out of the car

The rear door don't have plug in connectors, so just do it and try to penetrate that hole with those big wires your using. The front do have the connectors, so I just drilled the side of the door, not really a problem, again just make an attempt dawg.

"Anyways, about the hole in the fender. Yes, there is a hole there, and it's not run into the engine bay and back into the cabin. I tried to go snap a pic, but it's nearly impossible to see, and really only possible to feel the hole there. It's a little further towards the front of the car and further up on the fender than the stock wiring coming from the door that enters the fender. If you shine a flashlight down in there you might be able to see it, but I'd just probe around there with your fingers and see if you can feel it. Additionally, if you take off the interior kick panel inside the car you *might* be able to see some light coming in, particularly if you had someone shining a flashlight from above.
The hole isn't large, and it was created from the factory. It isn't sharp, and it's painted, so it should be there on all A33s. " All credit goes to MetaOrbit

The rear doors are easy to run threw but I've been stuck for the past week on how I was going to run wires for the front door. Does anyone know the biggest guage wire that could fit threw that hole on the fender?
