around how much spin?

just a question, someone from here told me to touch my rotors after about 10 minutes of driving, if their hot then i have a sticking caliper or something, so i went to the tire shop to change my front passenger tire because it was ripping, i touched all the rotors and all of them were fine except for the front passenger which was kinda hot and sticky feeling. does that mean i have a dragging caliper or something? When they lifted that wheel up, i tried to spin it to see if its sticking, and it was kinda hard to spin and would only spin about half a turn or so before it stopped for about 1.5 seconds. is that how much its supposed to spin or should it spin more freely? sry for this stupid thread but i couldnt really find an answer to this question just by searching, please dont flame me, thanks..

look at the rotors and pads, you would see MUCH more wear on a sticking caliper compaired to the rest of the wheels.

You could try cleaning and greasing it again.

If that does not work, get a new caliper.

Brake caliper is the metal object attached to the rotor. Inside there is a piston which push the pads to meet the rotor. Before the flaming begins, all the auto parts stores like NAPA, Autozone...etc sell re-manufactured calipers, give them a call. If you want a new OEM one, contact Dave B, or Courtesy Parts. And if you warranty is over, which I think it is given your car is an 02, it won't be covered.

This is when you call the dealer and ask for an appointment.

dmpesso, it seems a lot of people are against you and I believe you were recently banned. Please take this as simple advice, your car and my car has been out 5 years now. Everything that breaks commonly on our cars has happened already, thus there will be a thread by another person, the solution, and the cost of repairs. I suggest you to just donate $20 to the site, take advantage of the search function, and look up your problems. E-thugging and saying how you would beat people senseless in your other thread will only get you banned again. You have to realize that w/o people like soonerfan, n00bies would create 100+ threads daily on "which intake is best? which exhaust is best?...etc" and no one likes to spoon feed the same information over and voer again.

i have a suggestion... TAKE ALL YOUR QUESTIONS TO YOUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER! I AM SURE THERE IS ONE IN NEW YORK CITY! A service advisor will be happy to answer all of your questions, no matter how stupid they may be. Dealerships exist for a reason.

A sticking caliper will create much more heat

Drive your car for a while and use the brakes. take the westside highway or eastside highway and make a few 55-0 stops. Get out of the car and judge the heat difference between the brakes. If you have a caliper that is not releasing that brake area will be scorching and you will probably be able to tell or smell it even.
