will 15 inch wheels clear 2k2 brakes?

So I am thinking of picking up a set of 15 inch wheels (steelies or rims) for my 2k2 max...this is just for daily driving purposes...I want to gain a comfortable ride from the taller sidewall, and possibly gain extra fuel economy from the - 2 inch wheel diameter and -10lbs dead weight...

But is it possible to fit over 2k2 brakes? I know someone here who ran Kosei K1 15 inch rims on their 2k2 with no modifications, and no problems...at least thats what he told me...and I don't see why he would lie when I saw him run them before....but what about other rims besides Kosei?

Any input on this subject will be greatly appreciated

I can tell you from experience that Nissan 15" wheels will not fit over the front brakes. I had snow tires mounted on 15" 4th gen sawblades that I used for my previous car, a 97 Infiniti I30. I tried to mount them on my 2002 a couple of winters ago and they would not clear the front calipers.

thanks for the input...I ran a quick search awhile back...and a couple of veteran members including jime and sr20den said 15x7 kosei k1s will fit 2k2 brakes...

so I guess 95 sawblades are out of the picture as well

I think you're looking at some serious one-on-one time with a grinder if you go with the 15's. I used 16" steelies last winter with my blizzaks. Maybe just look for some of those.

I had to grid down the outside of the calipers to get the 15" millenia wheels to fit. No big deal there is tons of material there so no strength loss and I didn't have to grind that much off. The Kosei's did fit no problem though.

so the design of the Kosei K1 15x7 38mm will fit 2k2 brakes without any modifications correct? sorry, just wanted to confirm thats all..

Do you know any other rims that will fit 2k2 front brakes without or slight modification? I have my eyes set on these rims since they are so cheap and only 2lbs heavier than Kosei http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand Not sure if you can tell if spoke design will allow clearance

I can only confirm the Kosei K1's will work without and mod.

i dont think it is the spoke design so much as the distance from the edge of the spokes to the center. i think the kosei's fit because they have longer spokes than some other 15's. just look for some that look like there is an unusually large distance between the hub and where the top of the caliper would contact the wheel
