Hope those of you who got the Magnaflow tips are happy! I still really like mine...and wouldn't change them for anything else!

Absolutely nothing. I've been using Pilot SS tips for approx. 10 years now. 4 different sets and none of them rusted or turned colors. For the price, they are my choice of tips over any other mfg.

The weld on tips are just as good as Magnaflow. I know because I've had both. I currently have the bolt on stainless tips from Walmart on my OEM muffler. They were clearancing them out for $6.99 a piece.

FYI: Meijers also carries a large line of Pilot bolt-on stainless tips for anyone who's looking.

Just took these really quick. Yes, the car is filthy.

Eventually, I'm gonna have these welded on, but until then...

Meaning dual paths out of muffler?

If so, yes, ONLY if you are referring to OEM muffler. There is an internal butterfly, wastgate, flap, etc. that stays closed until engine is under load and more pressure flows through. The increased flow opens the butterfly and allows gases to exit exhaust much quicker through both outlets instead of just one. This provides low end torque.

Thanks for the info, but iwas refering to the acutal walls.
The have 4 categories for tips. Single Wall, Double Wall, Bolt on, Truck/large tips.

Wondering if it just simply looks, or the double wall actually dose something.

I believe double wall would mean rolled tips whereas single wall would just be straight cut tips? If that is what they mean by that then just about every picture posted in here is a double wall or rolled style set of tips. Do they show pictures?

Be careful if you get a big single tip. Make sure they space it down off the bumper far enough. It melted part of the bumper my 01AE. Nothing a little dremel can't fix though. I'll post pics soon as I get some new bits.

Quit saying things so nicely sooner. You have to be mean and hit them once in a while so that they learn.

I just don't prefer bolt on. Especially when you get large tips and see the original smaller tail pipe inside. I see those a lot on the civics around here.

The good thing is that you can change it out easily. The bad is if it's not tight enough or if the bolt rusts.

I came home today and one of our dogs chewed up an entire couch cushion. I was pretty happy.

Buy a megan racing catback and weld those tips onto your OEM muffler.

He did ask a question now didn't he? Sure I am new to this forum but I am by no means new to online automotive forums, yes newbie questions get old everywhere but I don't see how making a comment about which tips to go with is a "clueless" post?? Maybe I missed something...

So I went into a local shop to get my two Magnaflow 13151 muffler tips welded on to my stock muffler....well the mechanic said the tips I have
are too big for my muffler. He could do it but it would be way to much work for what it is? He said I have a 2" inlet.??
Is there a chance I have some stock like muffler with smaller pipes?
(Disclaimer: I have not measured the tips I have to verify if they are a 2.25" inlet to verify If I was sent the correct tips[I can today])

^^ Thats what Im thinking, just for the sake of argument I measured my tips

The muffler tips are 2" in Diameter (Each)
The Magnaflow tips have an inlet diameter of 2.25"(each)
Is there anything wrong with this picture? If not I will go to another shop tonite

I put 2.5" tips on the OEM muffler cause the Oem tip trim/cover was shiny when new and started looking pretty ugly after a while. So I cut the actual tips down to about 1.5"-2" long and set the Borla tips against the muffler endplate and tack welded the tips on. The only way you can see them is getting down on your knees with a flashlight! I recently removed that Oem muffler back off cause I was through polishing my Cattman muffler and it's big twin 3" tips. Now that the Cattman muffler is back in service. I might remove those Borla 2.5" tips and Install Thermal Research's 3" round slant cut SS tips for future use! 2.5" was too small, looked almost stock(2.25")

part #

I am a little unclear on which magnaflow tips are being used on Jess' car in particular. Are they the 13151 or 35131? Jess put 13151 in her post, but I can't find those on the net. Part #35131 is the part referenced in the ebay link, but I don't think those are the same ones. Any ideas?
