OEM rim, is it 17x7.0 (on a 2003 maxima)

Just to be sure... I don't know much about rims, so i don't know if in 2003 they might have made it a bit wider, or if it's still 7.0....

I'm looking to possibly purchase 235/45/17 inch tires...

from what i'm reading, the oem rim should technically be able to take these tires... although not entirely recommended, it should be fine...

it'll fit and this is correct to go 45 when you put wider tires (235) or it will rub on wheel well

it is 7.0" and you've done your reaserch on the recomendation for going 235...you should handle better with 225 due to hte sidewall not being pitched in like a 235 will.

It won't be pintched in enough to affect handling and that's exactly why you go 45 onstead of 50

since where asking...whats the offset for hte stockers?

well i bought a set of yokohama advan sports... holy **** they grip nicely...
and on water they hold ground extremely well...
went with 235/45... sweet size!

This is OT but in any case, I don't really think our cars justify such high performance tires like advans
