This has probably been asked a million times, but I couldn't find this topic using free search.

Is it common for the 2002-2003 maximas to need brake replacements around 45k? My dad's 2003 just needed the front rotors replaced at 44k, and today when I was getting my oil change, the stealership told me I need front and rear rotors replaced, and I'm at 46k. I'm not doubting I need them replaced because lately my stopping ability sucks.

and before you flame me, this thread is not asking "which aftermarket brand should I get" I'm just asking if it's a common problem to need your brakes replaced at 45k.

It's not common unless maybe all 45K miles is in stop and go traffic and you constantly ride the brake.

If you're using OEM pads or an equivalent, there's something wrong...

there is no regular/normal schedule for replacing brake rotors and pads.
it has EVERYTHING to do with driving style and how much they are used.
could be 20K miles...could be 100K
