This afternoon, I encountered a 96 Mustang Convertible driven by a mid aged crisis guy (late 60). He wasn't trying to race or anything, but since he is driving a convertible, I was able to hear everything the driver said to his other 2 passengers. He said that he saved up for a long time for this car and he said he will keep it till he die. He was having a great time with both his friends cruising. When the light hits green, just as usual, I floored it, but of course I didn't mean to, the guy in the Mustang convertible looked extremely sad when I saw him. I felt really guilty because the driver loose the smile on his face. He didn't talk any more, he had his head down the whole time.

Yep, keep dissin' dem neons...

Anyone know if the Neon SRT got the production go ahead? If they can put 220hp down to the ground, you'll probably be seein' some taillights...

Yep. Found the reference on Autoweek's website. It was in their June 18th issue.

The full article is here (Neon reference down by the picture of the yellow... uh... civic):

http://www.autoweek.com/search/searc...2BSRT&record=1

but the bottom line was 220hp, 0-60 in 5.89 seconds. The article actually says they'll be in showrooms soon.
