Spring bearings?

Anyone ever have these go bad? I had my struts replaced a WHILE ago and after they were replaced, I heard a clicking/creaking noise. I asked aorund about it and got responses saying it was the axles. SO i changed the axles after I was given 100% feedback saying that was the cause. Now the same noise is present but at a lower level. Turns out its the spring bearing. When I turn the wheel left or right, my springs are rubbing against the spring bearing. Anyone ever need to change this? Its really bugging me that I had the work done and now its a possibility that my spring bearings are either not properly greased after the work the shop did or they may need changing. Am I SOL or do I have the right to have them fix something they may have caused?

Are you sure it's not the exhaust bearings?

You need to replace the strut mount. Yes those stupid little bearings do wear out in time, hell mine were cracked in 3 places.

Spring Bearings

Ok, Ive already stressed about my front axles being worn away. The clicking noise is still there and it just so happens to be my front spring bearings (the rubber piece that sits at the top of the springs). Unfortunately, either the bearings are becoming worn away or need to be greased, probably the 1st choice as it seems. The mechanic that told me this said that when the struts were replaced, the mechanic didnt re-assemble everything right and thats the reason why the bearings are either shot or ungreased. I turn around and told him it was his mechanic and he looked as if he **** his pants after he explained to me the error without knowing it was his shops fault. The bearing is rubber from what he said and they are the reason for the clicking noise that I hear because the springs are rubbing against the bearings causing them to twitch/be pulled on or whatever it can be called. Question: I had my struts replaced in early-mid April by his shop. Do I still have a chance of him replacing/fixing the problem without paying for anything? I mean he did say that the mechanic didnt assemble everything back together correctly and it just so happened that it was his mechanic. Thoughts?

I'd say you do, but that's only if the mechanic is a stand-up kinda person. He could tell you go **** yourself, and the only way you could win is to bring him to court, which you have no proof (maybe you do) of the work being done there, much less him saying it was their fault. I would say it all depends on the kind of person he is.

The bearing is not rubber, it's plastic.

so the best bet for him would to have gotten the strut mounts, and the bearings replaced

Thx for merging the posts.

I thought that when I bought the struts, the mounts came with it. I asked the parts store that I bought them from and they said yes. I asked the mechanic beforehand and he said it all comes together. The springs vibrate if you put your hand over them when the wheel is turned. I'll see as far as getting in for free labor and I'll buy the parts. What's the cost of these? I probably didnt even need my front axles replaced. Stupid mechanics
I hope this cures whatever dilemma my front end has cuz its real annoying to hear a ticking noise after Ive repeatedly had the mechanic go over and over with my car and concluding it was the axle. Thx for the help guys.

I think the strut mounts are ~$35 from Dave Burnette

So what should I approach the my mechanic with? Tell him to replace the spring bearing or strut mount? It's the actual spring that is being given resistance. It clicks when I turn the wheel.
