Which ES motor mounts

I've been searching and unfortunately just come up with a bunch of stuff i didn't need to see like traction bars and stuff. I see ES has two motor mounts listed 7.1116 (57)-Motor Subframe Bushing Set- front lower
and 7.1114 (57)-Motor Mount Replacements (two torque mount positions only) what is the difference between the two. Which would do I want just to stiffen the engine mounts a little. I don't want any harsh vibrations or anything.

The lower subframe bushings 7.1116 replace the four bushings that go on the center member.

The motor mount inserts 7.1114 replace your stock motor mount inserts; they are solid inserts vs. the stock liquid filled inserts.

IMO, the motor mount inserts make a bigger difference in terms of throttle response, but the lower subframe bushings are cheap and easy to do.

The best (cheapest) way to get these installed is to:

1. Remove the center member yourself
2. Remove the front and rear motor mounts (which contain the inserts) from the center member
3. Take those to a shop with a press, have the shop press the old inserts out and the new ones in
4. Go home and reinstall the motor mounts and center member

Do a search for Polo's thread on ES products or my posts on motor mounts for more information.

i plan on doing the motor mount for sure, do you guys think the front and rear control arm is worth the extra 120ish?? when i make a left or right turn at normal speeds running over a bump in the road the car seems to slip to one side (almost feels like loosing control). Im thinking the control arm bushings are dead....but i dont know much about it, so any advice would be great. thanks again polo for the link.

I hear that the Place Racing motor mounts are way stiffer than these ES. You should look further into that, although I'm not even sure where you would start!

I'm searching now...

3M WindowWeld is what I used on my G20 a few years back. Comes in a tube and is easily applied with a caulking gun.

http://www.mcmaster-carr.com McMaster Polyurethane is another highly recognized product for this. It's a bit messier but supposedly holds up really well and comes in different strengths

PL Polyurethane roofing comes in tubes and is available at home hardware stores. Usually brown in color. Almost identical to 3M WindowWeld, but cheaper.

yup but i dont think 3M windowweld is something that would withstand the torque of a VQ, specially since i am going to be boosted soon. my mounts are shot as well and im thinkin if imma like the stiffness of the ES or i should just refill them and see how long they last.

u have the direct link to the mcmaster
