just installed struts and springs and...
I just installed some GR-2s and the Progress springs all arround and as I was pulling out of my garrage I noticed that the rears made a clunking or almost screetching noise when I went over the bump out of my garage. I have done everything exactally as http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/su...on_noises.html
this site has said and I am not sure where it is comming from. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Looking at it further, I seem to realize that the noise is directly comming from the upper mounting points in the trunk. I can actually see the top of the top hat actually move up and down from inside the trunk if I push down and then up on the trunk a few times, making the noise louder and louder as I push harder.

I just tried it and i am getting the same result... I think I am going to redo the strut and see if there was something else I missed again. If you can think of anything else that it possibly could be please just jot something down.
Thanks Guys

can anyone put up a more detailed pic of the upper strut mount with the top hat completley assembled still out of the car prefferably... if its a pic when its in the car that will work also... im just lost and frustrated.

You are probably spinning the shock shaft when you are trying to tighten down the top nut.
Take it out completely and torque it down properly. You may have to use a vise grip and heavy cloth to hold the shock shaft while trying to tighten the top nut. Make sure not to scratch the shock shaft.
