I recently moved to Michigan from Pennsylvania and my car has the Cali/NLEV emissions. Does anybody know if it'll be a problem installing a stillen Y-pipe (getting rid of one pre-cat)? The Fed-spec emissions doesn't use pre-cats so it shouldn't be a problem legally, am I right?

Agh, long story. When I was working for the state, one of the things that sucked is that we had really high ozone levels, etc. and it was not because of OUR state pollution but because we were downwind from a lot of states who had major pollution problems, especially a couple in the Ohio River valley that I won't mention . We had to take expensive actions to clean up OTHER STATE'S air. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Very true. When I went to Acadia Maine for my 1999 vacation, the National Park Service has a display that shows satellite maps of the polution drifting north and east from Ohio and New York.
