hey folks, do you guys get this symptom. let say your cruzing down your street in 1st or 2nd at about 3k rpm and let off the throttle. as the rpms drop and gets close to 2k-1.5k, does it drop off really harsh. kinda jerks on you when you want to get back on the gas again. i heard from a friend that people were complaining about that. i just wanted to see if other people had this problem and if they got it fixed.

[Yea, it's the fuel cut issue, it's all over the place ever since the 5th gen came out. Nissan has a TSB to fix that by reprograming the computer. But my dealer says there's nothing wrong... bastards, mine does that still. I just live with it and not cruise on 1st gear.

try searching the forum

Do a search in the 5th Gen Forum under "fuel cut". Also check out the Technical Service Bulletins sticky thread at the top of the page.

Yup there is a problem, take your car to the dealer and tell them you want fuel cut off issue resolved and there is a TSB. you could even print it out for them if you wanted to. I had it corrected about 3 weeks ago and it is smooth sailing from here on out.

hmm is it a recall or what, cause I called Nissan of America and I checked the VIN of my maxima right when I bought it and they said everything is perfects, no recalls, no need to service anything except normal wear-and-tear stuff...

I took my car to the dealer twice to get it fixed. I even gave them the TSB-and it took 'em 3 friggen hours the first time, and an hour next time, and they still couldn't fix it!

I'm so freaking frustrated. Stupid dealer.
Does it have to be the place I bought the car from,or any Nissan dealer should be able to do it?

Peace

Yeah a lot of dealers just don't know how to do it. You'd think they would. Hah! Think again. Anyway any dealer should be able to do it, just call ahead and make sure they can do it.
