I agree with you from hte picture nismopc. ive never looked from the cat back on an A33 but i assume its the same as an A33B since a catback fits both. The cat looks different. If an A33 does look like hte picture then an aftermarket catback would be too long and extend past the bumper. Just my .02.

Makes no diff if hes tuned or not, the start up smoke was blue. Tuning only affects the way car operates in open loop at set throttle % if hes using a S-AFC or by RPM. Emanage is very similar, you don't tune your car for idle quality with any of these "piggy back" systems. Regardless of which, hes got oil consumption issues.

Cattman exhaust is made by Stromung, they also made exhausts for Mossy. I have one.

I don't like the way it sounds, the Megan one.

welcome to the club. i just did my oil change like 4 days ago and i got about 2.5 quarts to drain out and i have 75k miles on it. im using castrol gtx 10w-30 but im thinking about switching to something else next time around. its got a m1 filter on it too. i have the pcv blow by setup and it collects about 2-3 tbsp every week it seems.

edit: i changed the oil @ 21xx miles too!

yeah ive noticed that the 3.0 motors are solid. i wish the 3.5 was built like the 3.0 w/o any problems. i mean i know the oil consumption only pertains to a handful of guys on the .org but i guess its just one of those things you just have to live with.

Handful will turn into majority of them soon. Most of the cars are still around 40-60K miles, and the problem just about starts at this mileage.

Hey Huff, after looking at the exhaust, do you think the rear section will be interchangeable with OEM b pipe (I have Cattman but same fitment nonetheless)? I called up and they said "I don't think it will work with stock b-pipe because the piping is too small" which doesn't mean much.

if it is blue smoke on start up it means that there is oil leaking from the heads and into the cylinder. what causes this is worn valve guides usually i could be wrong. if its all the time your getting that kind of smoke its probably piston rings.

Ya it should bolt up w/ the OEM b pipe or cattman. I dont think youll have any fitment issues.

BostonA33 - Nismology is correct. Read up a lil bit more. In the 2000 theres cali spec and fed spec.

As far as i'm concerned, there are 2 pre cats and 1 main cat = 3 cats. Where do you get 4?

It seems pretty loud when you get on it, didn't seem that bad when you were decelerating in the 1st video though.

I think it's only that loud in the video because like he said:

My bad, I should have clarified. I meant i had another video coming, hense the second video. The sound is accurate though, it is what it is.

Do you have headers? If you dont, then I dont think you have anything to worry about. There is some drone but thats pretty much expected w/ headers. The drone is the loudest from 2000~2500 rpm. So cruising in 4th gear around 35-40 mph and 6th gear 65-75 is the loudest it gets. Theres less drone at any speed above that 2500 mark. Hope that helps.

I'm interested. I have a 2000 max with Y pipe. Any idea which place sells it the cheapest? I looked up Ebay and its going for $380 + $50 SHIPPING. I don't think there is a sound clip of a 2000 max with Y pipe and Megan catback? I might order one and be the first...hope its not crazy loud.
