eh, Sounds a bit loud for just cat-back. I'd rather it sound like that AFTER other things like headers, so at least there's a legit gain behind it.

just my .02

If he can only hear it between 1-2k rpms then its not that loud. I think its just the quality of the phone. Mines definetely a lot louder.

huffdaddy, have you driven the car around 60-80 mph? if so, is it loud like ricer loud at those speeds? is it a lot louder than expected? enough to attract the 5-0s attention?

Ya i drove it on the interstate last night. IMO, its not that loud at all. You can still hear it, there is some drone but nothing too annoying. If you dont have headers or a y pipe i wouldnt worry about it being too loud. If i turn the music up a lil bit I can get rid of the sound almost entirely. It is a lil loud when accelerating or at WOT but theres so many ricer hondas in this area it wont attract the 5-0.

I have intake, headers, stock cat, and Megan Catback. I cant hear intake at all anymore. WOT to redline sounds mean, almost gives me a half chub. Its not all that raspy, just pops alot more.

no matter what catback i think it will be loud with headers....

I have a pritty quiet setup.

hotshot headers, random tech cat (just added) , maganflow resonator (one of the best out), and a obx muffler and my car still a bit loud over 2.5k.

If you want headers but want the car quiet, stick with the stock muffler.

Well, saturday, the entire rear section seperated from my flange. I removed the axle back section on Sunday, pulled off my nice round stainless angle tips and bought this... (Should be hear by end of week)

I will be removing the really cool square tips (???? WTF - square ????) and welding on my stainless tips for that OEM look. Byt the way, besides the droning in the car due to the fact the piping is facing straight up into the chassis, the car sounds really nice with no muffler. No kidding.

If the b-pipe decides to take a **** as well down the road, I just plan on making a custom b-pipe with resonator, but until then....

Megan pre-released a couple that were listed on eBay and a few guys got lucky before they officially released it on their website. No one bid on them so the starting bid was lower than retail and voila'

Oh dang, good. I thought he was talking about the Megan and I was having serious second thoughts about gettin gone. That post was pretty much irrelevant then and he should've specified.

Just to clarify as huffdaddy2008 stated, I originally started this thread as I was contemplating getting a cat-back and the Megan looked like a good deal.

In the meantime, my OEM axle back flange rusted and the rear section seperated completely from flange. I removed the rear section, and was quite impressed with the sound w/o muffler. So I decided to see what axle backs were available and decided to just keep the stock OEM mid-pipe and do a aftermarket axle-back.

So...

...to be continued. Hope to have end of week.

I am debating whether or not to add this 28" thrush glasspack resonator to replace the one that came with it. I just dont know if it will actually quiet things down at all, or get rid of some of the pop and rasp. Anybody wanna chime in?

Huff my friend had to get his adjusted on his i35, it was hittin on one of the crossbars that run under the exhaust, i forgot exactly what the shop did but he paid like 40$ to get it extended and rainsed by the resonator.

If your thinking of replacing a resonator, Go with a magnaflow. Thats what I have , only time its raspy is when i just start the car and the exhaust is cold. Other than that it sounds great.

I have a video of my exhaust but now I have the same setup just with a cat.
