I've updated my OSCAI installation page to reflect the lastest modifications. My previous installation had the air inlet going underneath the air silencer, resting on the splash guard. After seeing UMD_MaxSE's car on Friday, I got motivated to route the air inlet through the splash guard. My version adds an air scoop as well.

Yeah! We should run. I'm a little nervous though. I keep seeing posts in the main forum about major fines for street racing. We could keep it low key. Or we could just go to the drag strip on Friday night.

Too Lazy...

I was too lazy to unscrew the air inlet and install the Shop Vac tubing, so I just pulled out the elbow joint that connects from the air inlet to the silencer. Just my little half-a**ed version of an OSCAI!!!

Aren't you worried about crap getting in there (debris/water)? And how hard was it to cut through the splash guard? And what do people use to cut the cap off the air inlet tube (I don't have the elbow and silencer...)

Thanks...

you really don't pick up a lot of extra crap.. clean the K&N filter more often and that should take care of it. The splash guard is not all that thick. I cut through it with a utility blade. I have a 2k, so my scoop had the L-tube....

Awesome work man! I have a stillen Intake and have routed a big 4" diameter tube from below the splash guard. It has a lip to induce air flow (which blows right onto the intake) but I think I might redo it with a scoop like yours. Best part about it is that it is easy to take out at anytime. Thanks for the innovations!

I was surprised how easily I cut through the splash guard. So far I haven't picked up a lot of junk in my filter with the old setup. I'll keep on eye on it. It's easy enough to push the hose back in, if it rains. In the winter, I'll probably through the elbow joint back in.

3 way race. UMD_MaxSE, vs. VTECboy, vs Paul. Let's do it!

Just copying Nauman. I added the scoop though. I actually bought the scoop for the hose when I first bought the setup, but I was too lazy to install it. Now that Maxus is coming up, I need every trick to stay in the running.

My butt dyno has be down to 15.5 again. It feels more responsive. I can't wait to test it on the track.
