2k2 max with skyline trans.???
#1
hi am curtrently in hong kong and i was looking ar a skyline today
i noticed that it had exactly the same shifter as the 2k2 max
it was a 97 skyline
and i dont think nissan would make a 6 sp trans. just for a north american market car, so i figured that the 2k2 max must be using the 97 skyline r34 transmission

Impossible.
You guys are missing one key point. The Skyine is RWD (well 4WD) and the Maxima is FWD. There is no way that the transmissions are the same. They may be made by the same company and have the same shift **** (WTF?), but the can't be the same unit.

www.autoweek.com said that the tranny is the same from 2k and 2k1, but they added an extra gear and made it cable shift.
