I got in my new led license plate bulbs and all is good, prolly not as bright as i'd like, but not "police interested" bright. Anyway, I noticed that in quotes they have '194' listed. is there a diff? are they brighter/fitment what? I'm just curious if anyone is in the know on this subject.

then try 168....

 

168 = 194 but runs a little less wattage. They have the same base, and LEDs made for 194 will work for 168 and whatever other cross reference number. My suggestion is to use hi-power 194 LEDs, or 921 (also same base) 12-LED bulbs for maximum brightness.

Here's a Pic; I'm pretty happy with them now that I got a good look at them in the dark. Maybe If these mess up I'll try out the 194s i guess...
