New Owner here... WOW!!

Just bought an 02 White SE Monday evening. Drove to Nashville to pick it up, had not driven it till I drove it off the dealer lot. My father test drove it before I bought it. I used to own a 93, and loved it. There is absolutely no comparison. This car is smoother, much better handling, and MUCH faster!! Words cannot express how good it is! I was shopping around for a max or a Mazda6, so glad I went with this. I did have to talk myself out of the following 04 though.
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true
There must be something wrong with that, right? Anyway, I am so happy with this car, hope to contribute all I can to the forum

One of the best things you can do for yourself and your car... Is to donate so you can search, also read the stickies on the top of the 5th gen forum.

That way you can make informed decisions for your car and it helps keep down repost ?'s.

the tranny mod is the Valve body mod...or the VB Mod search for it and you will hear all about it...the best thing you can do for the tranny is get synthetic oil in it and do a tranny cooler, thats what i did, the VB mod is pricey and can make your tranny shifts rough, but its all personal preference.

for what upstatemax said. you'll constantly get bugged about searching out info to do upgrades to your car.

as far as the FSTB is concerned. with our cars a RSB is generally considered much more effective. search out threads on the two.

Congrats on the 02. 5th gens are teh sexay.

lmao... thx, i had to scroll up to see what you changed! I have been reading up on the SWAY bars though and they sound like just what the doctor ordered, I would much prefer oversteer at the limit than understeer. Owned a mustang gt for about 5 years, during which time I learned a lot about driving hard and control at the edge of traction.

There is nothing wrong with that 04 maxima. The reality of it all is that the Maxima doesn't retain value very well. It is a little on the low side, so there maybe something but probably not.

Either way congrats on the Maxima you bought.

What does that badge say under the "Nissan" on the bottom-right of the trunk?

Oh, OK lol. I couldn't make it out in the pictures, but I hoped to God it wasn't anything similar to the GT-R badges people put on cars. I was going to comment on how it was

GL with your car, looks real nice.....

Congratulations on your purchase. I almost did a backflip when I got mine LOL. I have a 93 and an 03 so I know what it's like to go from a 3rd gen to a 5th gen. Far supperior power, handling, ride, and comfort. The only thing Nissan didn't improve upon was the turning radius (it's actually much wider on the 03 than the 93 which sucks). Everyday you will find out something new that your car can do that you didn't know about before. For example, if you hold down the UNLOCK button on your keyless entry, your front windows will roll down until you let go of it (in case you haven't figured it out yet, I just recently found out about this). Just a little tip.

I laugh with my wife about it...

I call my 5th gen my own personal freight ship...

Put the key in the drivers door and turn it to lock and they will roll back up.

Welcome to the org, check out my cardomain site for some ideas.

I went from a 93 Buick LeSabre (Mom's old car) to my 2000 SE...talk about an upgrade! My friends ask me about my "dream car" and right now I have her...I wouldn't want anything else - she's great!
