OK OK what is the trick. I bought some new bulbs thanks to this site!!!!!! I removed the lower fender protector and I can't understand how to change the bulb. I don't want to pull and damage but there must be some trick. Can anyone help. I removed LFP according to the link below (thanks paul.

How do I remove the assembly to change the bulb. There was one screw on the bottom of the assembly accessed from behind but the lamp assy would not come out. I also saw two other screws on the sides of the assembly but you can't get at them.
I changed the head light bulbs (very cool) and now I want to make the fog bulbs match. The current fogs look dirty. The original is probably better than the blue but hey image is everything!!!
I bought:
ASTRA ULTRAWHITE XENON for both the headlamps and fogs
$25 & $20/pr
First of many posts (great site)
Ralph
Almost forgot:
2000 Maxima SE
Sterling Mist
light Gray int

Check out this page. I thinkn Russ gives a pretty good explanation on how to change out the bulbs. Incidently the screw at the bottom does need to be removed and then there is a clip that you have to undo and then you just have to push the whole fixture out the front. Check out the page for more help.

Does anyone wonder why headlights are so easy to replace, with easy access to the bulb, but they can't seem to invent fogs that are easy to get to. The Maxima is not the only car that this applies to.

It should be designed so that you don't have to remove the entire fog light assembly. Once you pull down the splash guard you should be able to just reach up and get the light.
At least in my mind that is how it should be.
I tried to pull up the site http://www.5thgenmaximas.com/foginstall.html but got url not found. Is the site still active? I am having trouble popping out the two metal pins on the fog light housing in order to get the light to come out. I need to replace the bulb. I tried using a hammer but there isn't much room to work with. Any suggestions?
your talking about at the point in which you try and take the bulb out of the housing? correct.........that is the easy part, compared to getting them back in
be sure the screw holding the tab down is not screwed in...

No. I removed the bottom screw on the fog light housing. The next step was to remove the two metal pins in order to push the fog light (not the bulb) out in order to remove the bulb. I can't remove the metal pins. I've read a couple of reviews that say there is a tab that needs to be released in order to remove the fog light housing. Are you aware of that?
The instructions with pics helped me alot too. I had to replace my whole passenger side assembly and it took alot of force to push it back thru but I didn't break anything in the process. Good luck.
Is there an "active" link to instructions? As Frnchse said above, they all seem dead. Seems like a bit of an ordeal (outside in the snow, under the car) the first time and it would be great to have proper instructions to follow! Thnks
There are three sites that have directions.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2076435/2
http://shiftice.com/piaa_fogs.html
and there is another nissan forum site which I bookmarked the url on another computer. I'll post later. The instructions on shiftice.com said to take a hammer and pop out the metal pins in order to get the fog light assembly to come out. That didn't work for me. Another site said to take a 10mm socket to unscrew those metalpins. I have not tried that approach but willl give it a try this weekend.

Lol luckly my mechanic will do if for free. I get fustrated easily plus I stripped the screws so 30mins under my car in a cold garage is to harsh. Bare with me I just started changing my brakes myself lol
Here is the other site. It has picture diagrams. Says the instructions apply only to 2002-2003 Maxima's.
