HUGE rotors on MAX ???

I know this subject has been over and over, but need some advise...Will 300zx 30mm calipers work with huge 340mm, 1.25" thick rotors. I have done a lot of research and you guys sell brackets, 13" rotos and so on. I got all that. I camed across huge rotos, 340mm & 32mm thick. They are two piece rotors. Just wondered if they will fit. Please advise...

the calipers are made for 30mm rotors, but if you can get them to fit and make your own brackets, i dont see why not

Won't work. ESPECIALLY if they have a nissan offset. Please don't try to mix and match stuff if you don't know what you are doing. Just use my bracket/rings, Automax's rotors/pads/lines and either the 1pc or 2pc COBRA rotors. You will be fine.

actually, on the subject. does anyone know about how large the K-sport kit is? I haven't seen specifics and/or whether they will fit under the stock 17s.

why would you need rotors bigger than 12.6 or 13" anyhow? The z32 pads don't sweep the entire 6th gen rotors in the first place.

BBK on MAX 340mm / 32mm

see, that is what I wanted to hear "they don`t sweep the entire..." I was affraid of that. I know this is pointless to put 13" or bigger rotors on slmost stock maxima, but I want to do it. I`m in the process of getting 340mm rotors, which are a bit bigger that 13". I`m sick of replacing my rotors evey year so I want to put bigger ones so they will stay in good shape for longer time.

irish44j, what about thicknes. the Z32 calipers are 30mm. is that mean, that they will fit only rotors 30mm thick ??? I found rotors 32mm thick and I`m affraid that they will not fit...can you advise...?

Why would you? It doesn't have to do that to be effective.

Here's a simple test for you. Stretch your left pointer finger out. Now, with your right pointer, index and thumb, squeeze on the base of your left finger. Pull it down while moving your left finger up.

Notice how easy it is to move the left finger up even with three fingers holding it down?

Now with the same set-up, move your right pointer and thumb to the tip of your left finger. Use both to pull your left finger down, while pushing your left finger up. See how much harder that was?

The first scenario is working similar to the smaller brake set-up.

The second scenario is working similar to a BBK.

It is a bit oversimplifying, but it follows the same theories.

the size of the rotor has nothing to do with how long they will last....that depends on how you drive and what pads you use.

32mm rotors would be a tight fit. Besides, you'll have to have custom relocation brackets made as well.

An also...what size, width, and offset are your wheels?

by the way, you do realize that a 340mm rotor is not really much bigger than a 13" rotor (13"=330mm), right?

So what is the point of doing all this custom work just to get a rotor that is only 1cm bigger than the cobra rotors?????

Huh? Did you bother reading ANYTHING posted in this thread?

Someone needs to revoke your posting powers and just have you do research and read.

But it's soooo much easier to post wild, unfounded conjecture without even beginning to understand the problem at hand!
