I tried researching this route a while ago, and in my opinion, there are few things aftermarket that are better than the OEM **** .

Anything worth having costs $100+ and most of those don't even look as good as the 6 spd shift ****. I'm not even entirely sure what is available at this point, I would suggest google searching.

EDIT*
This thread has some links to shift **** options in it.

Try the momo ALUAIR-R (R for reverse lockout that our trans have). It is pricey but it's heavier than stock and feels nice. It is a nice match for the AE pedals and Z dead pedal that I have.

Alright, I know there was a HUGE ordeal in a thread about "STS", and most people want to shorten the distance between shifts, but what I want is to actually shorten the height of the shifter. I could care less how much faster I can shift, I basically want it for the look, since the stock shifter just looks too damn tall...CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS QUASTION??

P.S. Yes I've searched, and I just keep getting back to that thread with the ghetto mod in it.

There are no pics anymore, but hct67 cut his shifter and retapped it to shorten the rod length.

Look here for a good selection (this is also in the thread someone linked to above):

http://www.cardomain.com/shoptype/Shift+*****

You can probably buy them elsewhere for cheaper though. Many shift ***** are universal, just make sure there is enough room for the reverse lockout to still function and that the thread pitch matches obviously. IIRC, some people have actually also eliminated the reverse lockout, but that is beyond the scope of this discussion.

I changed mine with nismo GT titanium shift **** on my 5 speed. this thing looks hot. My thread size is 10mm. do you know your thread size? if 10mm, you could go with nismo GT titanium sfit ****. It's little bit expensive, but it's worth it. It cannot have scratch not like other chrome shift *****.
