Passenger Window Only Clicks!

Hey guys when I try to raise or lower my passenger window it only clicks. I know this sounds like the "auto window" reset that comes up around here often but if I can't get the window to go up or down I can't perform that.

I have disconnected the battery to try to reset it but it is no good.

So does this mean I need to replace the switch or the actual lifting system in the door?

Thanks,
-Ben

Well, if you can hear the click that means than the switch, fuse and relay are good. It looks lie the motor or something is stuck in the window mechanism.

Not necessarily. My friend did the LED mod to my window switches, and when reassembled, my rear windows did not roll down, and one side clicked. The switch internally was missing some of the contacts/bearings. Reassembled correctly, and works fine. This was all in the switch. Check that first.

just hold the switch up and bang the inner pannel or you can even remove the panel and tap the motor with a screwdriver. If it goes up when tapped you need a new motor

I know this may be a dumb suggestion, but it's happened before to myself lol

If you're trying from the passenger side...make sure that the window lock button isn't engaged on the driver side.

I was freaking out when my windows wouldn't roll down, and when I noticed I kinda thought to myself.."duuuh"

Too true! My wife just went through this with my AE. BTW, if the window lock button is engaged the passenger windows won't move even using the driver side buttons. At least on the 01s.

my passenger front window has been doing this for about a year now. it would just click and i would have to either keep trying to roll it up or let it sit for awhile and it would roll up. Then saturday after i get done painting my front bumper, my fender, my side skirts and my hood the damn window would not roll up at all when i wanted to wash my car! yesterday i finally decide to rip off my door panel and pull everything out and see whats going on. i know the motor is getting power because it about burnt me when i touched it. i took the motor off of the regulator, greased everything up good, plugged it in and then it would roll up, kinda crappy and loud but i decided i could atleast get it to roll up until i get a new regulator. well today i just got off the phone with nissan and just the motor for the window without the regulator is $290 bucks list and i could get it for $200. wow screw that i just ordered a motor and regulator for 75 bucks from a junkyard on car-part.com. im pretty sure that my motor has been locking up and finally just bit it. i couldnt even push the window up when i had the door panel off. sooo my advice.... buy a new regulator and motor on car-part.com and install it yourself. its really pretty easy its all bolts with no rivets at all. if you have any questions feel free to pm me, id be glad to walk you through installation if u decide u need a new regulator. good luck
