ABS TCS SLIP lights are on

here we go!

I have 2001 Infiniti I30 and I have a problem... Lights for ABS + TCS + SLIP are on and they wont go off.

I was driving on Friday night, i hit a pothole the size of the grand canyon. but the SLIP ABS or TSC didnt come on.

I was doing my HID retro on Saturday..alll day. i had to jack the car up to get under it and things like that.

i put everything back together, started the car and all three of those lights were on..

Has anyone ever experienced this? what should i do?

HEeellllppp!

Coils all the way.... i changed all 6 when mine went. Unfortunately the code didn't give me a specific cylinder so I didn't have much of a choice. I still have the old coild sitting in my garage.

I checked the codes in my 2000 Maxima by grounding pin #8 in the DLC with the key turned ahead and got flash codes 12 and 21. 12 is that it is doing a test and 21 is a problem with R/F sensor. I have a sensor on the way and I hope it fixes the problem.

Yeah, I've been driving it still, lights still come on. do you think the regular scanner will read the codes?

I don't think so. I tried a Geniuses and the newer SnapOn scan tools, they couldn't read the ABS on a Canadian 2000 Maxima SE. Yours could be different.

hmm.. well my CEL don't come on eithr.. and another question.. why would ABS apparatus be related to coils and ignition??? maybe you guys are talkin about a different coil?

anywho.. my car spits out the ABS, TCS, and SLIP once in a while.. i think it could be the speedsensor too.. i wanna find out the problem to mine 2 cause its annoying

unfortunately you'll have to take it to the dealer to get the code pulled. There's a way to do it yourself, but you'll have to search for it. Dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for the sensor, so call Dave B.

If the lights come on intermitently, may not be the sensor. Could be part of the wiring or something else. Unfortunately its hard to troubleshoot because a failure of any part of the system throws the same code. When my sensor went the lights would go on and off for a few weeks. Eventually it just stayed on. Could be your sensor slowly on its way out.

I had a same problem on 2000 maxima, my ABS lights and TCS and SLIP come on, but no check engine light. It turned out to be alternator. Before I had a problem with coils then I would get TCS and SLIP plus CEL but no ABS.

ABS system won't throw a code a normal ODBII reader can read.. if you get a code, it's not ABS. Try to scan it and go from there.

Depends on your area I suppose. My dealer wanted $500 for the part. Cost me around $120 with tax to get the bugger scanned. Had to pay for their general 'diagnostic'. Shoulda just talked with one of the mechanics, but I had some other things that needed 'diagnosing' anyway - made them work for their hour
