Lifetime Warranty Break pads
Lifetime Warranty Break pads
I just wanted to let people know that Autozone now sells Duralast break pads with a lifetime warranty. Cant go wrong with unlimited break pads for just 35$ (both front pads).
Hmm... I didnt realize other places were still doing lifetime warranties. The only other pads place that I rememberd selling pads with lifetime warranties was Bendix brand brakes from Advanced Autoparts but they stopped doing that years ago. My bad.
they do this because they still charge you the labor on changing them. also it gets you in the store where your bound to buy something...and then there is the fact something else on your car will be worn out or going bad etc. it's extremly smart marketing but certainly nothing new...
Dont DO IT !
For god sakes why would you buy crap semi metalic pads..... they ruin are wheels, go with oe recomendations of Ceramic pads, AlSO They are not lifetime brake pads, If you look closely it will say LTD Lifetime Warrenty meaning there only replaces for defects not wear, also it means the first set is free then you have 90 days on the second set and after that, you have to pay again. get ceramics, i had mine on for 118k miles now in the front and there still like new.
I work in the autoparts business and those are facts.

I work in the autoparts business and those are facts. That warranty really does nothing, they are warrantied against defects and quality. I had to explain this to a customer tonight and he got seriously pissed, the guy didn't have his receipt and thinks the transaction stays in the computers forever.... IT DOESNT.
You guys might wanna also keep this in mind most automotive items have a warranty against defects and quality, and your transaction will only stay in the computer for about 2 yrs. Ever wonder why the ink in your receipts goes away? Its heat paper, next time you get a receipt put it near an open flame or something hot, see what happens.

That is enough for me to go to the dealer and not get a lifetime warranty, so I have to downshift all the way down to 2nd to keep my brakes cool every day on the way to work, at least until I get some decent pads.
