Timing advance...who has it?

Im contemplating on whether or not I should have it done. To my understanding this "mod" creates spark earlier which makes throttle response greater...sound about right? Wouldn't this decrease MPG? If so, is there anything else advance timing would harm? I would assume whp gains would be minimal. I know octain 91+ must be used b/c only this will allow earlier spark to occur.

Who has it and how do you like it?

Should be using 91 all the time, not just because timing is advanced.

I had it done 2 years ago. No problems. I've always run 93 octane, before and after. Small increase in mileage and a bit quicker response.

Have the +2 on mine via Autoenginuity, as well as provided it for many .org members in the Mass/NH area. Noticed a slight mpg increase, low-end throttle response, not much else.
