mine is sterling mist so it is not that bad.....but....I would change it than paint it....that material is hard to put paint on and hard to match the body color.

I love them on my black car, the chrome handles, with my silver pinstripes and frost interior. All black and silver theme on my car. I need clears for my front and rear side marker. Oh, I even got chrome license plate holder too...

I took a look at my max the other day while working offsite. The first thing I noticed was the chrome door handles. I loved them! They make the car stand out. I'm sure that if they were the body color, it wouldn't be the same. But thank God that they are not some cheap black plastic door handles like on other cars!

I'm doing the theme thing too. White and silver/chrome. And I'm getting in a chrome license plate frame as well. I think the chrome door handles add to the car, like the chrome sills. It's funny how (some of) the SE people want the chrome, and the chrome people want the body color.

the door handles on the SE are the same color as the body.... perhaps you can swap those in somehow...

The chrome is more durable, no paint to chip and scratch. Also, chrome trim is usually a sign of a more expensive car. Whatever you have, just learn to appreciate it for what it is.
