i was being sarcastic, trying to make a joke pointing out how blatantly obvious the fire department's conclusion was, but i guess it didnt go over too well... i probably should have said something even more impossible.. like the spoiler or something.. lol

my guess is the usual culprit of fires when a car is sitting in a parking lot, some sort of electrical short caused it. I would almost cry if any one of my maxima's caught fire.

Fire re-tar-did spacers

I say thank those phelonic spacers.
THINK ABOUT IT
They decreased the intake temps/engine temp/which decreased the engine bay temp therefore saving the passenger compartment
Whos wit me on this one?.........Lol.
Glad you were fully insured. Now get the 7th gen

Mine didn't blow because it had a full tank, the less gas the more likely to explode. I don't see how his would have blown anyways...... Figured I'd add some more bad *** fire pics to this thread

The main problem... If the line let go it will not simply drip or dump on the manifold... It will spray in a mist, all over it.

Anyone can tell you that a flamable liquid in a mist can ignite far easier than if it was just dumped on the manifold. Normally it would smoke because as it drips, it is just smothering itself.

**** man, sorry for your loss....but atleast you're ok.

By the way, for those who are wondering what he'll get next, he stated it on the first page of this thread.....4 cyl Camry, as a daily driver.

Why, you ask?

Because he has a honda cbr600rr and according to him, everything else feels slow.

Hope this helps!

I'm not decided yet, but I kinda need something with better MPG since I drive 100-200 miles/day. I've been looking at possibly getting a G35 as well.

G35 = beautiful. I think a coupe may be my next addition, (not a replacement, though).

I'm glad you're okay, and I'm glad you had the coverage to take care of this. G-d bless.

that is terrible man.

as for a g35...that would be nice but depending on how much money you get, a G will be more than a 5.5 max

Yeah, a G35 will be more. It sucks that one has to spend thousands more for a RWD car. I just deleted some PMs, so you can send me one now.

Whoa that is indeed scary!! Glad you were out of the car when that happened and I agree. Once you get a bike everything else is slow no matter how modded it is, a bike will usually beat it. Not always, as I've seen...but usually!

Hope you can recoupe your losses and get something really nice!

I bought the car for $9500 6 months ago with 74k miles on it and drove it for 17k miles. I think I'll get a ~$11k settlement from the insurance company. Plus I was paid mileage by my employer for work use of my vehicle.

Yeah, I have a 4th gen 3.5 that I haven't been driving much because I need to get the CEL cleared and suspension fixed, and then get it registered.

to the people sayin "Thank god the gas tank didnt blow" dont worry, gas tank explosions are movie magic, in real life, the gas tank will never explode, they are fitted with safety valves which melt once it reaches a certain temperature. So the only thing you'll have is a huge fireball, but nothing that will blow the **** up in your face. This is what allows the firefighters to make aggressive attacks on car fires, knowing there won't be debri and shockwave flying towards us.

The UIM spacer did not survive the fire, but the LIM spacers did. The the fuel hose actually burned up and released the residual fuel from the fuel line. So gas was definitely a part of this fire.

Some states don't require liability insurance. But if you hit someone, youre screwed. Hurt someone? My God, you'll have paycheck garnishments until the rapture.
