should i get clear tint all around?
should i get clear tint all around?
well i use to have 20% all around and after getting ticket for the front i got it retinted to 70% which is pretty much clear almost haha but after having that i'm starting to like being able to see but the rear right now is still 20% black tint. the uneveness is kinda bugging me sometimes. do you guys think i should finish off the rest of the car with the 70% or leave it as is?
here's a pic of the car right now...

maybe it's my ocd but the uneveness is annoying at times =/

Its prob you got picked out cause your tint was different shades so it made you an easier target. I say get tint to match all around. I have 5% all around and I don't get picked on *knock on wood*

ya i had 20% all around before...it sucks cuz it's not even a fix it ticket...it's a non correctable one and i'm still waiting for the ticket to come to tell me how much i have to pay =( so i might as well just change it i'm actually pretty happy with the clear tint since i have have sunglasses most of the time anyways. but yea most likely i'll change it to 35% in the front again. thanks haha

on my acura cl I had 70% all around and I tought it looked clean as hell, definately do matching tint, dont listen to anyone that tells you to mix up tints for front and back, that just looks ****ty! if you are sick of getting tickets 70% is no guarantee you wont get a tint ticket again though...
i have 20% all around on my max and 5% on the roof.... i will not be going that dark all around ever again... the 70% all around looks sharp

... some people get tints for reasons other than looks
ya the 70% tint i have blocks out 60% of the heat compared to the 20% i had that blocks out 50% heat. but i'm starting to like the clear look so i might just clear the rear. i liked the 20% but i don't want to run into anymore problems =/ i'm going to pass this car to my dad anyways once i get a new car and he doesn't like tint haha
what brand tint does the really high heat rejection? I kept thinking i should get dark stuff because I'm VERY keen on reflecting the heat but I'm not so liking the night vision issue when its darker. if i could get some 50% with 60%+ heat rejection I'd be all about it
^ It's less about the brand and more about the individual films a particular brand makes. Llumar, for instance, has their standard charcoal gray (not sure about the name) and a semi-metallic film called Platinum Plus, which I've had on my last 2 cars. PP rejects more heat and is more reflective because it's semi-metallic.

it's in santa monica blvd near hollywood area. it's the type of tint that's expensive...usually $700 to tint the whole car. i doubt i'll do that now...have to fix the windshield first lol
it was 103 today and my windshield already had a small chip/crack from like 2 years ago. i notice the big crack followed the small crack line. i guess maybe after leaving the car outside for most of the day i had the a/c on coldest when i went for a drive. it just popped and i saw the crack =/ good thing i have tint on my windshield holding the glass in place...sucks this mean i need to retint the windshield again =/
I say do 35% all the way around, thats what i have on my max and its perfect IMO. I think either have the tint the same on all the windows ( minus the windshield ) or no tint at all. I personally am not a fan of how cars look with just the rear windows tinted. Thats just my .02 cents tho.
