I am considering getting the valvebody recalibrated. But I am still having some doubts about it. Since the valvebody recalibration changes the shift rate, then wouldn't the car have lesser high end power since the tanny shift through all the gears so quickly? I have an auto and I'm not aiming to get the quick 60s or 1/4 mile times. So is there any downside to getting the valvebody recalibrated? thanks

The downside is Don doesn't have any spare cores so we have to send it to him and wait anxiously for about a month or so....

It's nowhere close to a month. If you set it up with him in advance, it can be done in a weekend. I did - sent it to him on Friday, he did what he had to do, mailed it back to me on Sunday (you can pay to have USPS packages delivered on Sunday), I installed it on Sunday and it was done. One weekend and that was it. I love it.

Just a few questions...
How much did everything cost you in total?
Shipping, labor, etc...
How hard is the labor? Can I trust my friendly mechanic to do this?
Thanks...

I paid $375 (part of a group deal so don't expect that price if you are the only one ordering) for the vb plus $50 to ship it overnight with Saturday delivery to him (it's heavy). The cost that you pay for the vb recalibration includes shipping back. So $425 for the whole gig. The removal and install are a breeze with the instructions that he provides. I don't trust anybody with my car so I would rather do it myself. But, if you are comfortable with your mechanic, he should be able to do it.
