I was hoping someone here has had a similar noise from their Max and could help me out. I get a strange creaking/cracking noise from an area behind the sunglass compartment in the roof. The really strange thing with this noise is that it only occurs intermittantly at highway speeds of 65 or higher (yes I go over the speed limit)and on warm days. I took off the sunglass compartment to look around but couldnt figure out where the noise is coming from. I believe its behind the metal frame above the sunglass compartment. I think that the warm days make parts expand somewhat combined with the highway speeds (more vibrations??) causes some parts to rub together. I'm going to bring my car into the dealer soon for oil change and am going to mention the noise to them. I'm worried that I won't be able duplicate the noise for the dealer since it doesn't happen every time. Anyone heard of this before?? It's driving me absolutely crazy!!
