Well, finally got my UDP installed.

It is great!

Just as others have noted, acceleration in each gear is smoother and more effortless. I'll get it dyno'd later this week. But, the butt dyno tells me it was definitely worth it.

Biggest difference was in my launch. I'll definitely have to adjust after the race I ALMOST had.

Pulled up next to an old style 300zx turbo. I revved, he looked over and told me not to bother racing unless I had a turbo (trying to impress his girl)! He wouldn't race, so I launched anyway. It was a halfhearted launch - I revved to 3k and walked out the clutch. Normally, I don't spin too much. The tires broke and spun VERY easily; as bad as I've had them do in a while. Broke alot more when I shifted to second as well. Good thing he wasn't racing me! LOL

is this mod real noticeable? like if i got it would most nissan dealership be able to tell it was modded and so might void the warranty?

Because of that concern, I got the BLACK pulley. It is smaller, but I don't think they'd notice it readily. Now if you get a BLUE pulley, I think they might notice!!!

I had originally asked for blue, but changed to black for that exact same concern

It's a few bucks and always recommended when you change the pulley.

Definitely OEM-mine cost me a whole $6.58 at a dealer and they had a bunch in stock. I'm taking my car in tomorrow afternoon to get the entire tranny replaced, so if they don't notice it then, they probably won't ever (mine's black). It's hard to tell if you aren't looking for it specifically or from the side, which you need to take the wheel and wheel splash guard off to do. As far as gains, I noticed a pretty decent increase in smoothness and acceleration throughout the entire speed and rpm band. I don't know how much a UDP will show up on a dyno, but ya definitely feel it, probably as much as the y-pipe, and throughout the entire rpm band.

You sound like you're having SC problems... but without the SC.

well congrats, hopefully mine should be here on wednesday...
Did you do the install yourself? Is it a "do-it yourself" type MOD? Would $100 dollars be reasonable for a mechanic to charge to install it?
Anyway, i hope the performance is also noticeable on my automatic.
Roger
p.s. i cant decide between the INTAKE or SSLines+Pads
help me i am going MAD

Does anyone with the UDP have a system as well?? I'm just wondering if this seriously takes away from your electrical system. I have a decent sized system and I'm wondering if adding a UDP will rob me of some serious sounds.

You could and probably should add a capacitor.. at the worst that will ease the strain from the alternator...

Thanks unferth! I already have a capacitor installed, so I'm okay there. I'm also wondering is stepping up to an Optima might help the situation. Thanks again!
