I don't think traditional VTEC controlled valve timing(other than what the high rpm cam profiles were ground to) or else the "I" portion of the new VTEC systems would not be necessary.
But wow, iVTEC is certianly kick ***. As are the similar systems available by Toyota, Porsche etc..

The RSX has it and so will the next NSX. No word on further iVTEC implementation.
