I just got my 2001 SE/AE two weeks and I curious what the actual life of factory tires was? Mine is equipped with the Bridgestones and just wanted to know what others have experienced with these. Nissan says around 20K but I suspect less espically with the way most of us drive our Maximas. Also, what has everyone paid for a full legal tint job not including the windshield. Any info on these subjects would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

my tints were put on for $150, w/ 5 year warranty.

20%'s on 5 windows (2 front, 2 rear, back)\

i had the window tinted over the 'dot matrix' stuff w/o any problems.

the tint job cost me about $180 for everything except windshield, and the guy promised to redo it if something will be wrong. But so far almost a year and it’s good.
I already have around 21k on my Max2k SE auto (17”). Expect to not to change tires for another 10-15.
BTW – new 17” tires are about 150$ a piece.

I have at least 18-20K miles on my RE92's and they are still good for another 10-20, maybe 30. I do drive them hard but no burnout shows.

I have over 8000 on the stock RE92's with plenty of tread left.

Thing is, like most on this forum, I hate them so much in anything but dry conditions, I will likely replace them before they are dead.

$240 for the best lifetime metallic tint, all windows except front. Note: do not place metallic tint over the dot matrix on top of the rear window as you will loose all AM radio reception.

RE92 Tread Life

I've got 20k on mine so far. Haven't even rotated them yet. Show very little wear. I expect to get at least 40k on the set. I do mostly highway driving.

My re 92's have 23,000 miles. They are real slippery in the wet.

I had the 16" toyo's on my car and they lasted 15k...

I wasn't terribly gentle with them either... there's a sharp turn on my way to / from work that I would always make the tires howl.. _always_ like at least 4 of 5 working days....

I've now got Michilen mxv4's they've got 25k and the tread is in good shape.. I still took the same way to work and same driving habits, but I did stop spinning the tires on takeoff.. paying almost 600$ for tires will convince you to be nicer

My tint was $100 (fully illegal) in L.A.
Also ur tires should last 40K miles from daily driving, but factor in mountain or track runs that figure will go down dramatically.

Tint answer & tire questions

My tint was $200 even for all windows and the strip over the windshield with a lifetime warranty at the legal darkness limits for each window. No problems yet but its only a month old....same with the tires, though they do suck in the wet. Why they didn't put Potenza 730s on them I'll never know....maybe they don't have this size or something. Would a 225/45/17 fit on the 17" rim instead of the 225/50?. I don't want to have to buy new rims to fit a larger section width tire if I don't have to.

window tint

I will have a tint next week, it is $195 all around except windshield but moonroof as well w/ Titanium/No dye(quantum)
film.

I have 6500m on my RE92, looks like it will last till 20000 no problem.

That's what I got, same price too. I liked the no dye films better (quantum) when I was comparing it with the other film. I thought images looked clearer/sharper.

Tires: well I would say 20000 is a good estimate when I look at my them. But when they go, new rims and tires.

That's what I listen to 95% of the time. I'm addicted to talk and sports radio. When I was 21 it was all tapes.

I have almost 20,000 miles on mine and they seem like they'll last another 10,000. And I do some pretty fierce driving on back roads too. I agree that when my tires go, I'd love to get 18" rims.

My tint was $200 for 35% on all side windows, and 25% on the rear window. I also have a lifetime warrenty.

Non metallic will not interfere with AM reception, but I heard few cases even with metallic it did not interfere at all, maybe it depends on the brand of the metallic file and how it is layered.
