On my way to work I have a nice highway where I can easily do a 100 for a few minutes ( which I usually do :)
The fastest I ever got my 2k SE auto is up to 120mph, but I felt like the car almost stopped accelerating after 120 ;(
I think that it’s the way the computer is programmed, but I’m not sure. Anybody knows why exactly it stops accelerating after this speed, and is it possible to overcome it, and if yes – how?
Thanks.

if you have an auto. i was able to get to 127 mph top before running out of road.

i raced a Lexus GS400 about a week ago and he never gained an inch on me all the way up to 120, which at that point he started pulling away.. but up until then, we were dead even. his GS400 didn't even have plates yet.

kafene.

What kind of tires do you have?

H-rated tires will probably top your car out at 125.
If they're V-rated, you shouldn't have a govenor.

5th gen? My 4th gen goes to 120 in third gear, at which point you have to take your foot off the gas some, or else it will hang in third gear. It's good for about 139, however, any acceleration after 130 is rather slow.

the tires are: P225/50R17 93V
The car is a stock 2k Max SE with 'comfort and convenience' package ( 17" tires, sunroof etc. )
It actually feels like after ~110 acceleration drops noticeably, and after ~120 it drops almost to nothing. Then I ran out of road.
Is it possible somehow to reprogram the computer so it won't limit the acceleration ?
And is it safe driving this fast with that kind of tires?

What mods do you have on your car that it could do 154? I have a y-pipe and intake and mine pulls to 145 pretty quick. I have not topped it out with my mods yet. thanks

My car is strong all the way to 125, then is will creep the rest of the way to 139 or 140. Here in Eastern Arkansas we are blessed with an abundance on long empty 2-lane highways.

You should go faster...
I was able to get mine up to about 150 mph last year. I haven't attempted speeds this high lately.
