Check out my OSCAI, a little different than others
I was originally going to do something with scoops through the fog lights (I have a GXE 5 spd w/o fog lights) but chickened out.
I took the route most have taken, but modified a few things:
First I cut the plastic bar out of the stock front scoop and smoothed the cuts with sand paper. Obviously there is now a hole in the bottom of the scoop. I used black duct tape to cover the hole.
Then I did the typical OSCAI install with the exception of having a '60 degree 2" Street' as it is called at Lowe's inserted into where the front scoop air would meet the lower scoop air. I remember there being some discussion a few days ago that it would be good if there was some kind of baffle that would redirect the air coming from the lower scoop towards the air box instead of perpendicular to the air from the upper scoop.
I have tested this, and I believe I can tell a difference. In first gear at 15 mph (5spd) I spun the tires when I floored the gas (not slipping the clucth, don't think it did this before) and got a very healthy spinning of the front tires on the 1-2 shift (it is about 95 degrees out right now). It seems it rev's faster also, but it could be my imagination. I am taking it to the track on Saturday and will post the results.
The whole thing cost me less than $17.

Since I can only attach one pic per post here is another pic of the 60 bend that I put where the two air flows meet.

wait, we're talking about cai right? sorry!
Yeah, intake looks cool. But I think you should put back your intake screen in to reduce turbulence.
