I was doing a little cruising this weekend and was playing with a Silverado. The street we were on was a cruise street not a race street so I was only seeing who could pull of the line better. The speed limit on the street is 35 with a lot of cops enforcing it....so I was trying to be real careful. This truck and my car hit 3 lights in a row and we would see who had the better acceleration. I figured I was going to smoke him but was surprised to see that he would pull on me. After the first light I decided that I would really get into it and see what happens. We were pretty even up to 5500 rpm in 1st and then my clutch just slipped for an instant. I about pooped in my pants....when I shifted to second it was fine. This has happened to me two times....both time were when I was accelerating hard in first. I know I shouldn't take first up to those rpm's....and I think I am going to stop because I do not want to have to replace the clutch any time too soon! Has this happened to anyone else? I know I am going to go with a better clutch if I ever have to change the stocker.....any suggestions?

UHHHH

I would figure someone has experienced this as hard as we all drive. I read an article "JWT Turbomax" that also stated that the clutch has problems with high rpms in first. Is there any companies making aftermarket clutches for the 2k?

Are you sure it was slipping?

You don't have enough miles for clutch wear to be a concern...??

That is what I thought

I only have 3500 miles on the car...

Like I said...I was accelerating fast and going to the redline in first gear and it slipped and I let off and shifted to second and it was ok. Do you think I kust hit the rev limiter or just had a bad tire spin and felt like it slipped. I also have a bad habit of keeping my foot on the clutch....maybe I hit it slightly and make it slip.
