To all those that have lowered their cars, a question/s.
I was interested in eventually lowering my car and I was wondering if the car (whether lowered by Eibachs, H&R's or other springs)....if you have to be especially careful when going over speedbumps. Dang I'm not too sure how to exactly word what I want to say (sorry guys.) Basically I am worried that if my car is lowered that if I go over a dip or speed bump faster than I should have that maybe suspension components or exhaust or anything underneath the car might or will get scraped or damaged or something. I was checking our some of your guys rides that have been lowered and they don't look excessively lowered like my mind had exaggerated. Are springs that lowered the car stiffer than stock or the same and just shorter. Please feel free to post comments, thoughts or experiences. Sorry guys if I am not making sense but its early for me and I usually don't wake up this early, but I had to cause I'm Zainoing my car and it'll be HOT later on. Take care guys.

You shouldn't have a problem, unless you go with coilovers and have a body kit. Otherwise, a straight 1~1.5 drop should not be a problem.

I have never bottomed out since droping mine. 1.5" drop is very little. The Eibachs are stiffer than the HRs so they give a stiffer ride as well (not like stock).

Take some pics after the Zaino....I want to see it shine.
out.

Agreed. Unless you've got coilovers, Eibachs/H&Rs still leaves a pretty sizable gap in the front wheel well. As for the dips/bumps, you've just gotta get used to how it drives after you lower it and then figure out how much it can take. Personally, with H&Rs, it's comparable to the stock SE ride so I haven't needed to adjust my driving style much. Have fun.

You don't have to worry about bumps and stuff if you have coilovers either. It really depends on how much you lower your car. For springs, just drive like how you normally would.

if I get eibachs, then do i need a new set of struts. i would also have to get my car align wouldn't I. As for the pics after Zainoing my car, i will hopefully post them tommorrow night. however i'm not that impressed with it. maybe i did something wrong. oh well thats another subject to post later. take care guys. oh and thanks.

yes on both counts... you might as well do the whole suspension at once rather than putting in springs and then doing struts later... are you going to wait for the KYB AGX?

KYB AGX...whats special about them. I heard alot of hype about them. I might wait a while. How much are they going to be? I was planning doing the whole suspension like you suggested.

Your not going to be able to go over speed bumps as fast as before, you might not bottom out, but your ride is stiffer now and it wont feel too koshor, you get used to it......

dont' you worry about scraping your car with Eibachs or H&Rs..it won't happen...unless you're aiming your car straight at the center median..

if you go too fast over speedbumps and pot holes, your shocks will suffer the most, especially, if you're thinking about keeping the stock shocks, and so will you and your passengers though..it's not going to be a pretty ride...

ok. heres another issue i've been pondering...does lowering springs reduce ride height from the like where the jack points are to the street or do lowering springs reduce that big wheel gap from the wheel well? i ask because in some of your guys pics it doesn't like all that much but when i see the specs it seems like alot (in my opinion).

they are adjustable while still on the car. Cattman uses them in his coilover setup. Cattman is going to be modifying the 4th gen AGX to fit the fifth gen... he is trying to gauge interest for a group deal soon..... check the group deal forum.

Yes lowering will kill that wheel gap and if you go low enough you may not be able to fit a jack,i had problems putting my car on a lift once, i think i have problems with that cause i went 2" with sprints, most people on this board dont go that low, most have like a 1-1.5" drop which is just enough to increase handling without the headaches of going any lower.........

Just to clarify. The compression/rebound is ONLY adjustable with the AGXs. Not ride height. Unless you pair them up with GC or Cattmans' future adjustable perches.

The AGXs are the latest hype, since they are claimed to last longer than Tokicos and are about the same as Konis, but with adjustable compression/rebound for varying the struts stiffness.

How low can the AGXs handle before prematurely wearing out? What kind of life expectency is there with a 2-2.5" drop?
