Just wondering, because I stumbled upon a Japanese website that has performance ECUs for other Nissan engines, but I don't see ours. The VG30DETT Vertex computer(ECU?) is 98,000 yen, which I think is around $800.

You might need to download the Japanese text converter.

Well,

I couldn't make much sense of the site, but here's what I know. the VG30DETT engine is from the 300ZX Twin Turbo, it is totally different from our engine. I believe the Cefiro from japan uses the VQ30, but it also comes in other trims, which don't have the 3 liter.

The Cima has the 3.0-Liter, but I'm not sure if it's the VQ.

Cefiros also come with the VQ25DE I think, the 2.5 liter v6
and yea, the VG30DETT is the twin turbo version of the 300ZX or better yet the turboed VG engine from 4th gen Maximas.

Thanks guys for the replies. I know the V..TT anything is the turbo engine. I was using it as an example of what this site sell their performance ECUs for. The real question, was what Japanese car has the same engine as the Maxima in the U.S. That way I could try and track down a compatible ECU.

It showed that CIMA(US Q45) has a version which is on VQ30DET w/ turbo charger and 280ps! This should be direct injection. I wonder if someone put that in a maxima...okay, I really mean I30...

BTW,..

Since US Max/I30 2001 has the VQ30DE engine, and VQ30DET(in Cedric/Gloria) in Japan. I think the difference is only in Turbo! I wonder if anybody can import the kit to the US? It has the same power rating as the Q45 4.5 liter engine. So we are talking about 340HP? Also it is OEM stuff so it should be more reliable than Stillen V2 charger... I am drooling...

Will direct ignition engines work here in the US? I think I remember reading that the sulfer content in the gas here would be bad for those engines... but
