Here is a nice idea for an intake mod.

Basically, all you need to do is remove the distal half of the current intake, and secure the filter with some ties or something.

It'll work, but you still have to buy the filter. Use a hose clamp to hold the filter down (instead of ties).

I did the exact same thing on my 5th gen Max! Bascially, I took apart stock airbox and removed the front piece, I then attached the k&n panel filter on the other piece and zip tide it in place at the bottom....it worked great on the top end, however, lost some on the bottem end...I ended up going with the oscai instead cuz I wanted the quick pace off the line....hey, thought I shared this...so for anyone who is in the high rpm band alot, this is a great mod!!
